It wasn’t long ago I was sitting at Applebee’s enjoying two-for-one appetizer and drink specials, when a friend asked me, “What is the difference between banks and credit unions?” I answered with a measly reply of, “a lot.” And that is the truth, a lot is different, but in the moment it can be hard to find an easy place to start. So we’ve created an easy to follow chart to help share the difference between banks and credit unions.

Hopefully, with this simple chart we can increase awareness of the difference credit unions make. Our credit unions need our help, whether they realize it or not. We are their connection to our generation. We are their future. However, most of our generation doesn’t know much about the differences between credit unions and banks. This is a call to action—“Do what you have to do people.” Create some credit union Facebook flare, or create a credit union’s kick_____ Facebook group. “I’ll let you finish that sentence.) Add it to your MySpace, or drop it into your next conversation during a 2-for-1 special.
